Someday, you guys are going to support dhcpd on the ethernet port. (If you're not planning on this, please consider it a high-priority feature request, I need one network for all my show control devices)
When that day comes, we'll need to be able to FIND Maestro on the network. Broadcast ping should make this easy enough. Plug Maestro into the house network, let it DHCP, ping the broadcast address from another device on the network, recognize Maestro's MAC address.
Someday when you guys have unlimited time to spare and are bored, you could even build a fancy app that does that from mobile and recognizes Maestro based on MAC address ranges that you've shipped. Then it could let you pick which Maestro you want to control and open the app. But in the meantime, generic apps and a bit of operator smarts will be fine.
