Now that self-created, optimized CUEs have gained in importance and more fine-tuning is possible, I think that a "shuffle play" aka "random play" would make sense.
V1 - simple storage of "enable random play"-flag in CUEs
each CUE could be flagged as "random play enabled" directly in the CUE setup.
Exepted CUEs with infinite duration. ;-)
V2
a simple, “stupid” variant would be to play a CUE B from table X after completing CUE A.
Only the most important information (name of the CUE, duration of the CUE and trigger for the CUE) would be stored in this table at the beginning.
Probably users would be able to store for example 3-5 favorites CUEs to follow manually. if these are already played a compleate random chosen CUE would be played.
More logic could then be added at a later stage.
For example. Play a CUE next in which at least X attributes are the same as in the current CUE. example attributes: Colour primary group - colour secondary group - pattern primary group - pattern secondary group - FX group used....

as a small idea - having the option (set by a flag) to start the "Random play"-Mode as autostart.
This would allow to plugin Maestro and let it run the whole night even without any kind of display. ==> a true "black box". ;-)
