Moving head position alignment

I'm looking for a quick way to align moving heads from a venue system. I plan to take over the lighting system but don't have a lot of time to position multiple heads. I've seen in Lightkey how there is a "compass" that lets you align to stay in a certain area, excluding movement to the back for example.

Yes absolutely!  I didn't take it as a dig at our product at all...  appreciate your engagement with our product and the feedback :)   Deciding what to do when, managing resources.. is always super challenging.

I saw your feature request, thanks for submitting that!  It would be a good feature.

Thank you for the quick reply Gabby, always appreciated. I had a feeling that was the method and wasn't speaking negatively about the program, I'm really happy with it. I'll submit a request because I think people are more visual and it could speed up the process with multiple lights

I'm also looking forward to the second universe which will help with adding venue fixtures into my show.

Currently the best way to do this is to set the pan/tilt ranges for each fixture.

My recommended method is to pull the width all the way to zero for both the pan and tilt, then adust the offsets first, then pull up the widths to a point that the motion range is what you'd like.

Then I note down these values and enter the same values for the rest of the fixtures.

Unfortunately we don't have a faster UI for this at this time!  We know there are more slick methods with other systems.  This user had a similar issue (https://maestrodmx.freshdesk.com/support/discussions/topics/153000248195), however we don't have a specific feature request for a pan/tilt compass/area style interface to dial this in yet.

We do look at forum feature requests and the number of upvotes when planning out our yearly roadmaps, so I do recommend requesting this feature!

Hope this helps,

Gabby
