So I'm an Old Skool audio guy, back from a 10 year 'vacation' from the biz, and starting a small production company here in Omaha, Nebraska. I've now got all the usual toys - a JBL 900 series compact line array, some Elation bits n pieces to start a small lighting bridge, a Presonus SL24 mixer & stagebox, a mile of cables & boxes...all the normal startup stuff.
I know absolutely ZERO about DMX, and thus am buying the MAESTRO DMX to run my little shows. Every demo video I've seen runs a TON of backwall lights n movers! 12...14...even 18 fixtures!
What do you think is the absolute minimum to start? I currently have 2) Elation Spot movers, 4) Elation 7 Batten 14's and a single Elation SixBar 1000. I have a bunch of Global F14 mini truss out in the garage and am going to make a basic back bar so I can practice DMX tricks with the MaestroDMX (pic attached).
What should be next on my wish list?

This should be enough to get you started! Some people are using smaller setups and we have designed the lighting effects to scale with the size of the installation.
Please don't hesitate to reach out if you run into any issues, and our Office Hours are always great for getting one-on-one support also.
