Hey there,
i recently got my maestrodmx and was setting it up the last few days.
The functions seem to work fine but the color selection is not corret.
for example i got multiple dmx fixtures that are RGBW color coded. so there is one dmx channel each for red, green, blue and white. in show mode however the color "white" is always displayed as a RGB mixture and not as the specified "White Channel" only. this also happens when you press "Strobe" or "Blinder". its never pure white but always a mix of RGB.
i got the same issue with amber/yellow. it is always a mixture of red and green and not for example the amber channel only. for fixtures that have no yellow or amber channel this is fine, but some of my fixtures have amber channels and they are also mixing just red and green instead of using the amber channel.
this leads to mostly washed out colors in nearly every color palette. they all look to white. the only palette that is giving mostly correct colors is the RGB only palette.
but even there maestrodmx randomly mixes other colors in. for example when all my lights are set to solid blue, some fixtures are also mixing green in. like if something is triggering the dimmer for green in this case.
when i want solid colors, i dont want a mixture of them, if my fixture has a dedicated dmx channel for that specific color.
is there any fix or solution for this ? or a possibility to manually adjust colors, like some kind of fine tuning ?
sorry for the long post but i wanted to explain the problem with as much detail as possible :D
keep up the great work

Ah that explains a lot!
Yes, as far as i can tell i think blue ist the only solid color where this happens. I tried the RGB palletes and also the "one color only" palletes.
That could also explain, why mixed colors look a bit off. Because for pink it should be a mixture of red and blue values and currently a bit of green always gets added to the blue value.
when " pure White" gets added in the next Update instead of "RGB White" this and the "blue fix" should make color mixing a Lot more accurate! :)
Thanks for your research and for helping out!
If i find more suspicious colors i let you know :D but i think everything elses seems fine :)
I am looking forward to the next update!
Greetings,
Julien

Ah ha! I just had a look and our "Blue" color we have provided, is not pure blue! Currently the hex value is 0x0020ff.
It has a small amount of green in it. I'm sure this is why.
I'll make a note to change this palette to pure blue for the next update.
Is blue the only time that other colors are mixed in?

Hey there,
first of all : thanks for your reply!
i am glad to hear that the RGB Mixture for White is not an configuration mistake by me. i am looking forward to the next update :)
so i also checked my fixtures wich got the random colors mixed in. My Pars, moving heads and lasers working fine. i have this issue only with the American Dj Mini Dekker and some Mini Spider Lights. The fixtures seems to be configured correctly. i tried the preset from your website and also created a fixture profile for these lights on my own, but no matter what i am doing the fixtures mixing other colors in.
the red channel works as intended
and so does the green one.
only when i set the lights to blue theses fixtures are mixing the green channel in.
The marked spots are green from the Derby and the Spider Light.
I wonder what i am doing wrong because i think everything is set up correctly.
the palettes in the pictures were set to Red, Blue, or Green only.
Let me know if you have another idea what maybe could cause this. :)
Thanks for your help so far!

Hi there!
At this time, yes the whites are made with RGB, there are some palettes like the sparkle palettes that also use the white channel.
Next update (1.4) will have the addition of "white only" / "amber only" / "uv only" palettes.
The random colors in... If you're setting the color palette to blue and you're seeing green, that speaks to a mistake in either the stage layout or fixture profiles.
If possible I recommend attending office hours to get video support:

Hope this helps, let me know!
