I've been deep into FX snapshots for a while now.
Now I'm in the process of setting some FX palettes for movers in different stages. I can add different FX snapshots of the corresponding devices for each stage.
But some channel settings are often not saved correctly.
One FX snapshot sets the position of my movers to a mirror ball, so I set the gobo to OPEN, the color to WHITE and prism OFF. Then I connect the channels of the other devices to these channels.
Later I see that the prism is still ON on one device and I have to check the snapshot. Then I have to reset these channel settings.
What is wrong? Should I set all channels manually? Does the linking function have a fault? Or is this a general problem?
I would like to use these FX palettes for Mirrorball projection, for Hearts gobos on the roof or a fixed warm white setting for the PARS in special situations like lectures, buffet time and so on....

Yes correct. I was able to duplicate it consistently

Just to confirm, even if you are using channel override instead of the gobo toggles it still overrides other snapshots?

Unfortunately when I override, it overrides the other snapshot. It's a back and forth issue. My solution is to only have one single snapshot that will stop all movers. The main problem I have is moving movers spinning gobo wheels when I am doing a blackout or break queue. They are so loud, I have to make a snapshot to shut them off

Yes, this is the same bug - Gobo and prism inherit from the same class/type in the code.
Will using an override work for now? We will fix this in 1.5, it's a smelly bug. Sorry for the hassle.

Im noticing something in my testing, which may be another clue to the bug. When I save the gobos and prisms in one snapshot, it will wipe the settings in my other snapshot. So, I can only have one snapshot with prism/gobo changes saved. Is there a work around for this?

Of course we're going to fix the bug! Our next software release will be in the fall, I was only suggesting a work around in the meantime, it's high priority.
You certainly can still use the Gobos and Prisms in a show, as well as having a channel override: enable the override for the specific snapshots ONLY, leave the behavior as normal for your default settings.
Hope this helps.

Hi. Thanks. But overrides are not a good solution. If i override the prisma to "off" and gobo to "open" (for a mirror-ball), then its no longer possible to use gobos or either the prisma in a show.
Please consider fixing this bug for gobos and prisms as extremely important. The FX snapshots are a very great and useful feature.
:o)
Thank you!

Hi! There is a known bug for Gobos and Prisms snapshopts in 1.4.1. Currently the workaround is to use overrides.
We will address this in the next update! Sorry for the inconvenience
