I suggest adding a hold-off time setting on the kick detection to force the beat following an even pattern. The setting should simply set a time to suspend kick detection for a given time after a detected kick.

Yes there is beat detection! This is one of many algorithms, and kick is another. Some patterns use it, some do not. As you've observed the flashbang pattern uses kicks, not beat detection. If you check out say the party pattern and watch it for a while for example, you will likely find that some of the effects within that pattern do move to a more consistent beat, and that would be an example of beat detection algorithm.
Maybe we could add a toggle so that flashbang pattern can switch between beat and kick algorithms.
Thanks again :)

I wasn't aware there is a beat detector. My impression was that there is only a kick detection with no respect to the pattern or time distance between the detected kicks. The kick detection icon is flickering well aligned with the actual kicks, but I can't notice any beat quantisation. As an example, any dub step or break beat track will follow every single "uneven" kick pattern and the lights will react to it. To my taste, the flashbang in particular could be way more immersive and brutal if the flashes are stoically firing at a constant rate even if the kick patterns are more complex.
Thank you for considering my proposal. I think my suggestion was pretty much that "beat detector" thing, only by different technical means. I'll observe the kick detection icon and see if I can support the beat detection by feeding the Maestro an equalized signal to better isolate the beat.

OH I see. If there was a 'pick-up note' kick that was before the beat, and we delayed the response, it could be out of sync with the desired beat. Perhaps what you're wanting is a combination of our beat detector and our kick detection, where the lights only respond to kicks that fall on the beat? I am hearing that you'd like the kick detection to respond to a more even pattern. If you had a specific song / desired effect that could help me understand even more clearly. Thanks :)

Hi Gabby,
It's not about delaying the kick detection. I'm suggesting a hold-off time after a detected kick where no other kick can trigger a change. This would "quantisize" the beat (e.g. ghost notes or break beats with occasional double strokes) what makes flashbang or strobes more heartbeat-like and even.
Thanks

Hi Gee!
Thanks for your feedback, can you elaborate on this, why would you want the responsiveness to the kick delayed?
