Apologies in advance if this is duplicated, I've searched on here but haven't been able to find what I'm looking for.
I have a fixture with 8 light sources, each one has 3 channels RGB. Is there a way to group these so that Maestro is aware which channels relate to each light source?
I tried splitting it into 8 separate pseudo fixtures but the actual fixture has movement on 3 other channels and I can't figure a way to share these channels between the pseudo fixtures to get the effect I want.
Hopefully that all makes sense.
Thanks in advance

No problem, thanks for the input, this is on our radar. Of course by setting two fixtures to the same dmx address, you can get them to use the same frame buffer output from Maestro, but being able to have to different dmx addresses point to the same frame buffer index is a new feature request. I'll ingest this now that i understand what you were asking for, thanks for taking the time to explain!

Hi Gabby,
Thanks for the info, that makes sense. No, just macros at lower channel modes.
Appreciate the help!

Hi again!
We lucked out last time that I hapenned to be answering forum posts just as you posted, apologies for the delay this time.
If you have 8 beams, Maestro will treat each as a separate pixel, and a chase would occur across all 8. you can confirm this by trying to "mapping test" pattern, if it's not clear slow it down and decrease the width, they should turn on one at a time full white. Basically Maestro till treat each beam (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8) as 8 separate beams. There is no way currently to make 3,4,5 got to one beam and 6,7,8 to another. Check your fixture, there might be a lower channel mode that groups some of the lights together for you.
Does this help? you may want to try attending office hours, they could likely help also if there is something else going on here, there might be a misconfiguration if some of the Rs are coming out different instead of all red.
Cheers

Hi Gabby, thanks for responding so promptly.
So my fixture is a bar that has 8 beams, each beam has 3 channels RBG (24 total for light). The bar is also a mover and has 3 channels for that so the first channel for light is channel 4.
So the first beam is 4, 5, 6 and the second beam is 7, 8, 9, and so on.
I’ve set the correct RGB values to each channel, my question is how do I tell maestro to treat 4, 5, 6 as one beam and 7, 8, 9 as another. As it stands I don’t thing it can tell the difference between 4 and 7 and so chases get muddled. Both are R but they come out of different opens on the fixture.
Does that make sense or am I fundamentally missing how maestro handles this sort of situation?
Thanks

Hi Richard!
Maestro should automatically group the RGB values into separate light sources. Can you describe in more detail what you're trying to acheive? One example I know you'd have to make 'pseudo fixtures' would be if you want to have some lights on a separate fixture group.
