MaestroDMX Quick Start Guide
v1.4
Getting Started
Connect your MaestroDMX to power using a USB-C power cord.
Connect an audio cable from your music source to the MaestroDMX.
Plug in your fixtures directly into the DMX out connector on MaestroDMX.
Connect your computer to the MaestroDMX:
The MaestroDMX serves up its own network; connect to your unit in your device’s Wi-Fi settings.
Network name: Maestro-xxxxxxx / password: ‘mymaestro’
Alternatively, set up a hardwire connection via ethernet. Use the following settings on your device’s LAN port:
IPv4 Manual Connection
IP: 10.0.0.XX
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Navigate to the MaestroDMX Web App by inputting ‘maestro.local’ into the browser.
Click on “System”-> “Info and Updates”. Verify that the latest software is installed.
If not update the software as per the instructions on the “Software Update” pane.
Click on “System”->“Audio”. Check audio works by playing music and observing the “Pre-Gain Level.” Green indicates sufficient levels.
Visit the MaestroDMX Fixture Profile Webpage to download your fixture profiles. Profiles can then be uploaded to MaestroDMX’s fixture profile library. If your fixture is unavailable on the webpage, you can create the profile yourself or contact support for help.
Back in the MaestroDMX app Navigate to the “Fixture Profiles” page and upload your profiles (3-dot menu -> ‘Add Profile’ -> ‘Restore From Backup’).
For MaestroDMX to start controlling your fixtures, set up a stage. On the “Stages” page, access the 3-dot menu to create a stage.
In the “Patcher”, add your fixtures to your stage/fixture groups.
In “Layout”, drag your fixtures to match your live setup for mapping.
The “Control” page is used to modify the static values of your fixtures in real time and to create Snapshots for FX Palettes.
Navigate to the “Show” page. In “Live Control,” you can choose a maestro pattern, color palette group, and parameters for your cue. Changes will show up on the stage in real time.
Alternatively, create Cues and add them to the Show sequence.
Power Input
USB-C Connector, 5V DC, 2 Amps maximum input current
NOTE:
MaestroDMX requires a 5V DC power source supplying at least 2W (400mA), inclusive of the USB WiFi dongle. Ensure that you allocate sufficient power for MaestroDMX and account for any extra power needs of other USB devices connected to the bottom USB 2.0 port (MIDI or USB Audio devices).
